Teledata Update

Teledata shares have been credited to the Demat accounts of all share holders as on Record date of November 23rd 2007.

If you had 100 shares of Teledata previously, you should now see the following in Demat account.

NA 100
NA 50
NA 50

These are the shares for TDIL(Teledata Informatics Limited)
TDMS ( Teledata Marine Solutions)
TDTS ( Teledata Technology Solutions).

If you are holding ICICI direct account, the previous code for teledata was TELDAT but now the new codes should be TELINF, TELMAR and TELTEC for the new companies.

TDIL should be listed next week and the remaining two will list in subsequent weeks.

All the best for TELEDATA share holders.

Hi srikant,

i have received the split of teledata.. but the prices of the shares have not been given yet? infacr all seem to be having the price of Rs2 per share.

any idea on why this and what can be the real costs.. thanks

Hi Gautam,

The face value of the three shares is 2 Rs. The base price for TDIL will be decided before listing and price for the other two will be similar to new IPO getting listed.

Regarding the real prices it will be known in a few more days and it will be difficult to guess but one should get good price compared to the price before demerger.

Thanks,
Srikanth

Is there any logic in these splits? Has any other company done like this before. I am not sure if these are in the shareholders interest. Were these steps every cleared with the shareholders? How did SEBI or the Highcourt allow such actions? Anyone could repond please

Hi anon,

I would not like to respond to people who do not give their id atleast but in the interest of every one i am replying to your query.

It makes lot of sense to demerge company based on the business it is. There are many companies which have done this and many are planning to do this.

Teledata was previously a mix of all businesses and hence they have demerged accrodingly into seperate businesses.

The required permission was obtained from the courts, share holders and all regulatory bodies.

Also, the record date was mentioned in advance so that any one who was not interested in the demerger could exit by selling his shares before the record date.

Thanks,
Srikanth
